ERIC Database
#1 The name of my database is ERIC, and teachers would use this database, the database is used to research papers.
#2 You can search using keywords, publications, thesaurus, and indexes. They also have advanced search, and visual search.
#3 You can sort your search by subject by selecting a subject from the window at the left hand side of the screen. You can also
sort by date, author, relevance, and source by clicking on the small window at the top of the search results.
#4 ERIC allows you; to print, save, and e-mail the documents you find on it.
#5 It cites its sources, so, in effect, you could figure out how to cite your works.
#6 Yes, you can e-mail anything you find on the database.
#7 I can only find text based search results, no video, picture or audio search results.
#8 At the most general search for Lord of the Rings, the oldest article is from 1968.
#9 You can find many magazines and reviews on this database but they aren't the most up to date.
#10 ERIC does provide a help button in the top right hand corner of the screen.
#11 ERIC does seem to be a little to complicated and specific for me, so teachers who aren't familiar with computers or this database won't like it, however, if you have a higher experiance level with computers this database wont be to complex and it should work well for you.
#12 This database does not stirke me as being overly user-friendly, for the reasons stated above.
#13 I believe that if you were in college or a teacher, you could use this for almost anything.
