Ebsco's Business Source Complete is a database consisting of business related full text journals in all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance, and economics. There are also other non-journal full text articles that include financial data, books, monographs, major reference works, book digests, conference proceedings, case studies, investment research reports, industry reports, country reports, company profiles, SWOT analyses, and even more. The journals included in this database are far more active and peer-reviewed than any other database out there. This database is for the use of an older more educated user. When a user wants to search for something on this database there are different methods they could use. First there is either a basic search, an advanced search, or a visual search to choose from. There are then sublevels to search under: keyword, publications, thesaurus, author profiles, cited references, company profiles, and indexes. There are many ways one could go about searching for a topic on this database. In addition to using these different methods for searching something, one could narrow their search down even more. For one, you can select if you want the article or journal to consist of a full text, if you want there to be references available, or if you want the journal to be scholarly or peer-reviewed journals. Then there is the choice to select a range of years for the published date. There is also a place to type in what publication you want the journal to be from. The next step is to select what publication type. The choices are: all, Academic Journal, Periodical, Trade Publication, Newspaper, Book, Primary Source Document, Industry Profile. There is also the choice as to wether you want less than so many pages, more than so many pages in the search result, or the exact number you choose for the amount of pages. Then you can either choose all, PDF, or text with graphic to narrow the search even more. To expand the search, boxes could be selected such as also search for related words, also serach within the full text of the articles, and automaticall "And" search terms. Business Source Complete also allows the user to either print, e-mail, save, or to add the journal to a folder. To do this you would click on the links and follow the steps as you are instructed. For some of the search results, this database even includes how to cite the source or journal. For more help on these areas the user could always click the "help" link.However, this luxery is not available for all search results. These options, such as being able to e-mail the article to yourself or a friend, can be very useful and helpful. This database also contain images and graphics that can be used. Ebsco's Business Source Complete contains articles dating all the way back to 1886. This is very useful because not all databases are this useful and contains articles that date back as far. As it says above it is possible to search for journals and such in magazines and newspapers. The information accessed is relitively recent or current. When the user is having dificulties with this particular database they could click the "help" link. This link provides a wide range of many different things. Some of the main help topics are: How to choose which of the Ebsco databases to use, How to translate an article, many searching tips, browsing tips, how to have personal accounts and account types, how to save searches and alerts, viewing results, how to print,e-mail, or save and article, the different citation styles, a glossary and stop words, how to reach technical support, user profile help, and basic database assisstence. These are only the main subjects listed on the "help" link; they don't include any of the sublevel subjects. Most people would agree that Ebsco's Business Source Complete gives you has many or most of the options possible to narrow or expand your serach. There are so many choices to narrow your search that it is not as hard as other databases to come up with results that you were hoping for. However, the database could include more images and other multimedia such as videos and audios. The database is rather easy to use because there are so many different ways to search for one topic. There is always a way to make your search conclude in narrower results. The Business Source Complete isn't neccesarily only usful in business classes. This database could be used when researcging for a history paper, english or literature essay, an economic class, or even a science paper. Ebsco's Business Source Complete is very useful and easy to use. It is one of the easiest databases to use out of all the databases i have ever used.--
