MEDLINE- a subdivison of Ebsco.!
To quote its description on the ebsco site,
" MEDLINE provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree, tree hierarchy, subheadings and explosion capabilities to search citations from over 4,800 current biomedical journals"
To access MEDLINE you must first log into the ebsco databases, which can be found at http://search.ebscohost.com/ . or more easily done by simply going to FWCDS student page, and clicking on the ebsco link. MEDLINE has numerous soucres, such as articles form news papers, journals, historical aritcles, lectures, legal cases, techincal reports, government publications, and more.
This database contains full articles as citations of them. When i entered limitations on the date i wanted, i recived results from as early as 1865, although these might have been modern reprintings. This site does not appear to have any special features other than a visual search.
This database works as most ebsco ones do. You can enter a search, such as "placebo" next to the big "FIND" label. You can enter restrictions such as the catagories listed above as well as to a certain type of publication, also listed above. Then you can hit the enter key, and as with most databases a long list of results will appear. You can sort these results by date, source, or relevance.
